1.Scope
This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the test method of watertightness under pulsating pressure _utilizing the pressure chamber on opening components, hereinafter referred to as the “Windows and Doors”,specifled as ‘Opening Components Class 1 in JIS A 0005 among the testsspecified in JIS A 1513.
Remark:The units and numerical values given in i } in this standard are in accordance with the International System of Units (SD,and are appended for reference.
2.Definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following definitions apply.(1)
pressure differenceDifference between the external pressure andthe internal pressure of windows and doors. It is called positivepressure when the external pressure of windows and doors is higherthan the internal pressure of that and is called negative pressurewhen the external pressure is lower than the internal pressure.(2)static pressureDuring application of a certain pressure,in the case where the external pressure is higher than the internal pressure,it is called. positive static pressure, and where the external pressure is lower than the internal pressure,it is callednegative statie pressure.
(3)pulsating pressure. Pressure of which pressure difference changes periodically in nearly sine wave.
amount of spraying waterAmount of water sprayed per squaremeter per minute evenly to the whole surface of the specimen.
3.Testing 4pparatus
The testing apparatus chiefly shall be composed of the mechanicaldevices which have functions of (1) to (5) as shown in Fig. 1.
Pressure Chamber The pressure chamber shall be constructed soas to maintain a certain internal pressure during the test and beequipped with water spray nozzles in the chamber.
Blower The blower shall be able to pressurize up to the testingpressure to the specimen.
Device for Generating Pulsation. The device shall be able to produce pulsating pressure as shown in Table 1.
Device for Spraying Water The device shall be able to spray acertain amount of required water evenly to the surface of thespecimen.
Device for Measuring Pressure DifferenceThe device shall be able to measure the pressure difference between the exterior and theinterior of the specimen.
