Scope
This internationa Standard specifies the procedure to be followed by a Reqistration Authority in preparingmaintaining and publishing international Registers of assigned numbers and associated descriptions forentries specified in Clause 4, for use with ISO/IEC 26907 and ISO/IEC 26908. This lntermational Standarddoes not specify any method of using any attribute or identifier registered according to this InternationaStandard.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply

bit
binary digit with value ZERO or ONE
3.2
string
sequence of at least one and at most 50 characters encoded in ISO/IEC 8859-1

4 International Registers4
4.1 PHYID
The PHY ID is one octet that uniquely identifies a specific implementation of the PHY, as specified in Annex BofISO/IEC 26908:2009.
Requestors shall specify a unique string for registration with a PHY ID value.
4.2SpecifierID
The Specifier lD is a two octet value that uniquely identifies the owner of any Specifier lD as specified inAnnex C ofISO/EC 26907:2009.
Requestors shall specify a unique string for registration with a Specifier ID value.
4.3 Regulatory Domain
The Regulatory Domain Number is a value that uniquely identifies a specific regulatory domain, as specified in16.8.18 ofISO/EC 26907:2009.
The Registration Authority shall specify a unique string for each Regulatory Domain Number value as requiredby regulatory changes.
5 Registration Authority
5.1 Appointment
2.7.2.1 of the ISOIEC JTC 1 Directives direct appointment of the Registration Authority for the lnternationalRegisters defined in Clause 4.
5.2 Duties
5.2.1 Maintenance of International Registers
The Registration Authority shall maintain the lnternational Registers specified in 4.1 and 4.2 due toRegistration as specified in Clause 7, withdrawal (as specified in Clause 8) or amendment (as specifiedin Clause 9) of assigned strings for allocated PHY ID or Specifier ID values.
